Memories |
This haunting song started out as the second track on the Marvelous Things EP, but eventually it became the opener for Room Noises. When it was rerecorded for the full length album, Weston DuPree could finally play the dramatic rhythm he had wanted the first time. Stacy DuPree sings most of the lyrics, with Sherri on high harmony and the "wife" portion of the bridge. The working titles for this song included "Musical Seeds," and "Musical Things." (Also, OGG gets its name from the bridge of "Memories.") |
Lyrics |
| He was throwing grain into the ground below, ground below With dreary circles of his arm, going slow, very slow His cap pulled down roun' his ears to hide the smile and watery tears My loving wife is so wonderful Dreary birds parade across the dreary sky, but down below But her life is so beautiful (Husband speaking) But, there's beautiful things that spring from these rows |
