Tree Tops

This calliope-esque song first appeared on Laughing City, but a twinkling demo version was released for online purchase on iTunes as part of the Telescope Eyes EP just before the release of Room Noises. The Laughing City version found its way onto a mix CD played in at least one American Eagle store in 2003.

When Eisley opened for Coldplay, Chris Martin would often play "Tree Tops" on his piano during soundcheck.

Lyrics

When I was a young girl
trying to find my way above the treetops, the treetops, the treetops...
When I was a young girl
trying to find my way above the treetops, the treetops, the treetops...

I did not care, I did not care what they called me
what they called me
I did not care, I did not care what they called me
what they called me

When I was a young girl
trying to find my way above the treetops, the treetops, the treetops...
When I was a young girl
trying to find my way above the treetops, the treetops, the treetops...

I did not care, I should not care what they called me
what they called me
I did not care, I should not care what they called me
what they called me

Ah...

I'll float above the ocean
the sun above is burning my head
I will grow wings and fly everywhere...

Butter warm clouds are dripping into my mouth
tasting of golden

Etc.
